The brothers of St John are a religious community founded in France and with priories throughout the world.  They study philosophy and theology and have very many international young brothers and sisters.

Often a charismatic speaker and praise songs.  Prayer and sometime individual prayer for healing.  A large crowd.

Cenacolo

Monday eve 7.30-8.30pm St Patrick’s (in church and upstairs), Soho Square
Prayer group for addictions.  Adoration, intercessions, rosary.
Family and those needing help with addictions and others interested.  If someone needs help with addictions they can talk to the organisers after the group and every help is given to visit and get into the Catholic “rehabilitation centre”/community called Cenacolo that does not need funding (please remember Cenacolo if you know of someone with a drug problem etc - and spread the word) which has an 80% success rate.  Also simultaneous support group on Monday for those interested in living in the community.


Calix in London.  An association of Catholic alcoholics who are maintaining their sobriety in partnership with the fellowship of AA.  Seek to promote spiritual development of its members by meeting for mass once a month and for conversation, prayer and reflection.

Becoming a Catholic

Are you an adult non-Catholic interested in exploring what Christianity and the Catholic faith are about? Are you thinking of becoming a Catholic? If your answer is yes then it may be that the Westminster Cathedral RCIA programme is for you. The RCIA programme (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) will begin on ....(awaiting update, probably mid-September) and will run until the end of April 2009. It will consist of regular weekly meetings. If you live or work within the Cathedral Parish or regularly attend Westminster Cathedral and would like to find out more please speak to one of the Cathedral priests or contact Fr Denis Sarsfield on 020 7798 9068. Alternatively, contact your local parish priest. Most parishes run an RCIA course.

    RCIA 2008-9 begins at St Patrick's on..(awaiting update) September, leading up to the Easter-Vigil Liturgy in 2010.

Neo-Catechumenate Way

Introduction talks start in September/Oct for 8 weeks.  These are very good.  Groups stay together and pass through stages of formation with aim of mature Christian life, active members of Church and credible witnesses to the Gospel.    These groups meet during the week for liturgical Bible reading, followed by comments including Jewish/Spanish style music.  Mass on Saturday evening.  These meetings are prepared by the communites; smaller groups meet to prepare.  Also groups meet for half-day occasional Sundays for Bible study, lunch, liturgy and sharing.
