The Christian Legal Centre/Christian Concern for Our Nation and CORE (Comment on Reproductive Ethics):

Went to court on 27 November 2008 to challenge the HFEA (the Human Fertilisation and Embryo Authority) who I think administer the law eg the HFE Bill.

It seems that the HFEA has acted outside of its powers by granting permission for mixing animals and humans in an embryo before the law was passed.

The CLC and CORE are hoping that in the future they can challenge the HFEA without the terrible costs they would have to incur if they lose (because they HFEA apparently employ the most expensive lawyers).  They are hoping they will not have to pay the other sides costs or that they would be capped.

The judge will make her decision within the next few weeks.  Please pray.

Great News!!! UPDATE 5/10/09 see:

This I would guess is because as Pro-life commentators pointed out, apart from being wrong, this research was going nowhere and was just a waste of money.
